This mare
is what my friend Dudley Pillow was
breeding for in his program. She stands close to 16 hands
and has the most gorgeous head, back and hip you could put
on a mare. She has the muscle of an NH horse but is NN. When
Lanis and I went to
Dudleys plantation after he died to look at the horses,
this is the mare that we both picked as the best one
there. At the time of our visit no one knew what she was
or how she was bred. When we subsequently purchased her,
we found that she did not match her papers. In fact, that
is how her barn name became "Angelica" as her papers
indicated she was a mare named Shanes Angelica by Shanes
Bake. After a lot of DNA and checking with AQHA, she was
determined to be an own daughter of Skips Shane out of See
Thru Nightie who traces back to Skipa Star on the top and
Mr Impressive on the bottom. I think Dudley
would be happy that Lanis and I have this mare. Her
first foal was the gorgeous gray filly, Shania Shane who
is now owned by my dear friend, Jackie Harwicke in
Australia. |
