Message from Sandy Ellis

Our
motto in the horse business has always been
"Expect the Exceptional". Recently
we formed a partnership
with our good friends, Donna Davis of Silver Hill, Alabama and
Lanis Noble of Brandon,
Mississippi, for the express purpose of promoting Exceptionist.
Over
the years, I have realized the importance of great mares in a
breeding program. Exceptionist
is the product of one of my
best mares, Cool Ms Tardee (deceased) and Touchdown Kid
(deceased), the leading sire of halter
horses in our industry.
The resulting
foal was so exceptional that we named him Exceptionist,
and frankly, because he was so exceptional, we nicknamed him
"Frank".
An
early injury prevented him from a great show career but word of
this outstanding individual spread far and wide. Jackie
Harwicke of JVQ Stud in Australia was looking for a stallion for
Chris and
Sherry Black. They wanted a horse to augment their
breeding program "down under". Australia will
only import NN horses, so Frank with all of his outstanding
attributes and the fact that he
is NN besides, found a new home in Australia in 2003.
Prior
to his departure to Australia, Frank was bred to 2 mares in 2002
and 6 in 2003, resulting in a total
of 7 live foals.
The quality of
these colts led Donna, Lanis and I to realize the importance of
this
horse to the quarter horse industry in America and negotiate to
purchase him and bring him back
to the United States. Exceptionist
will remain in Australia for their upcoming breeding season but
will return in time for our
2005 season.
We
truly believe that the intensity of his breeding allows him to
possess a high degree
of hybrid vigor. It is apparent from his first few foals,
he is able to pass his incredible muscle, great disposition and
exceptional conformation to his offspring.
We
invite you to consider Exceptionist
for your mare in 2005. Check this website often for more
information
about him and future updates on his exceptional foals. |
