In 1996 I had been looking for a good  mare and would ask everyone who called if they knew of any. One of  the people I asked was Larry Johnston who is the fly system distributor in Iowa. He told me that  in his travels he had seen a really nice mare at Bernard Fairchilds but he didn't know if she was for sale. I called  and arranged for Mike and I  to drive to Iowa to see her. I remember looking in the stall and immediately "falling in love"  This mare has the prettiest head, the shortest, strongest back and the most beautiful hip. I could hardly control my enthusiasm. She belonged to Arlene, Bernard's wife and she agreed to sell her to me. Bernard told me her nickname was  PDS and that stood for Pretty Darn Special.  I love the way this mare is bred being by a son of Dandy Seeker and out of a daughter of  Dandy Seeker and being NN certainly doesn't  hurt her. She has a few halter points but her main worth has been as a broodmare. Her offspring have her size and the huge hip and gorgeous back along with pretty heads. She has crossed extremely well with Kids Classic Style. Western Sundown, the young palomino World Champion owned by Sartain Equine Management is out of  her and we still have Janie who is the twin embryo to Western Sundown.
