December 2, 2017 Well, today is the Big Ten Championship Football game and the Wisconsin Badgers will be playing the Ohio Buckeyes. Wisconsin is currently ranked #4 and Ohio State #8. However the sports announcers and "people in the know" say that Wisconsin is going to get beat because we have had an easy schedule and are not a good team. Well, last night there was a "little pow-wow" in our back pasture between Fred (Classically) and Bucky Badger. Evidently they were discussing game strategy and I think they have it figured out. We shall see tonight. Fred even let Bucky ride on his back while showing him some special maneuvers. They were both pretty exhausted after the ordeal and Fred was ready for a little hay.

October 27, 2017 Fred (Classically) and Bob Luebker. I think Fred has a pretty fancy neck for an aged stallion. Bob is our "right hand man" I don't know what I would do without him.

September 29, 2017 Fred (Classically) and Leah Gloudemans this morning. Leah is taking Fred to his pasture for a long cool day of eating grass. Fall is definitely here in Wisconsin. Back to sweatshirts and vests.

June 25, 2017 Fred (Classically) this morni;ng. He wants to go out on the pasture and eat but we have had too much rain and Mike won't like him digging it up.

June 18, 2017 Fred (Classically) on Father's Day, 2017 doing what every father should do on their "special day" Fred's absolute favorite thing is eating!!!

June 4, 2017 You know how it is when you are a “professional” football player and you start getting older, you have to look for another career to pursue. Well, Fred (Classically) is getting too old to play football (even though the Green Bay Packers may still need him) So, I asked myself what should he do to replace it. As most of you know, retired athletes like Terry Bradshaw find announcing jobs and also do advertising for different companies. I have a very good friend, Donna Davis, who along with her husband, Jess and their son, Chad bought a “rope making” business. Chad just graduated and I think it will be a great opportunity for him. If you remember Chad has been team roping and doing a great job of it. He found a particular rope he really likes the feel of and so do many other ropers. The owner of the company wanted to retire so the Davis bought the company. It is called Riviera Ropes. They are so busy making ropes that Donna doesn’t even have time to shop for mares on the internet. She has been telling me that everyone who tries them, wants to buy them and they are having a hard time keeping up with the orders. She said Chad is working day and night to keep up with the orders and his hands are raw from tying the knots. I told Donna that Chad should go on Shark Tank and I bet he would get some big time investors. I happened to think that perhaps the company would want to advertise nationally and since Fred is a retired football star, maybe he could get a job promoting Riviera Ropes. Today Leah Gloudemans, Bob Luebker and I gave him a rope to see what he would do with it. Well, we all thought he has the talent to be the spokesman for the company. I sent the pictures to Donna and she told me that what Fred was twirling was a lariat and not a team roping rope. I guess I should have checked before we gave him the wrong rope to practice with. However, if he can twirl a lariat, I am sure he can do the same thing with the Riviera rope. I am waiting for Chad to send me one for him to try. Chad’s company is located in Uniontown, Alabama. Personally, I think the young man is going to have a very profitable business in the future and hopefully Fred will get in on the “ground floor”.

May 27, 2017 A little excitement today. We didn't have to collect and ship so Leah Gloudemans turned Fred (Classically) n the arena for some exercise. It is so cold and windy here, we decided not to put him outside. Leah came in the office and told me she thought he was cast as she heard all this banging and when she went to the arena, there was Fred. We have a cowhide on the breeding dummy and he had reached over the gates and was throwing it around. I don't know if he thought he should be collecting today or that he is really a "cowpony" The arena was filled with dust and he had a great time and got plenty of exercise. Leah took it away from him and gave him the "big ball" to play with. Well, he proceeded to smash it. It is too bad because little Trigger enjoyed playing with that ball and he was not as rough on it as Fred was. I guess I will have to find another toy for Trigger.

May 25, 2017 Yesterday was the last day that Fred (Classically) gets to graze all day in the pasture. Leah Gloudemans and I were looking at him yesterday and decided that his new name is going to be "Fat Freddie" Without us even realizing it, he gained a lot of weight---in fact, he looks pregnant. Today was his first day in a "dry lot" and he was sure ready to come in the barn tonight and have supper. Whatever you heard about stallions getting nervous and losing weight during breeding season, I don't think Fred heard the same thing.

May 13, 2017 Finally a good day to get Fred (Classically) out in the sun. After his "collection" Leah Gloudemans, who is our stallion manager, gave him a bath and then put him out in a grassy pen to eat. He is such a pretty golden color this spring.

March 18, 2017 Beautiful day in Wisconsin. It is almost 60 degrees and the grass is starting to turn green and soon the leaves will be on the trees. Fred (Classically) is enjoying being outside even though the mud is not completely gone.

March 18, 2017 What a basketball game!!!! Wisconsin defeated #1 Villanova!!!!! And they didn't even need Fred (Classically) to play!!!!!! Go Badgers!!!!! He was ready to play if they needed him.

March 15, 2017 Fred (Classically) playing with his rope in the snow. In a few days the snow will be gone and the mud will be here. But then, spring is right around the corner, followed by summer.

January 23, 2017 My wonderful friend, Vicki Livasy designed this picture of the Packer, Falcons game. As you can see, Fred didn't seem to be able to stop them and neither did the rest of the team. I guess we could blame it on the injuries we have but in reality, they just played better football than we did. It was a great run for the Pack and next year, we will rebuild and be back.

January 21, 2017 Fred (Classically) begging me to bring him back in the barn so he can eat.   Fred loves playing with this rope on this foggy Wisconsin day.

Our weather has been terrible. This warm weather and rain on snow has made it very slippery outside. On Friday, Bob Luebker and I were taking Rebecca (You Bet Im Cool) and Jackie (Luvin Pizzazz) out to their shelter, assuming the driveway was okay. Well, guess what----it was covered with black ice and Jackie who I was leading fell down and scrambled to get back up. (Of course she is my only pregnant one) What a feeling to stand there surrounded by ice knowing that I had to get her out of there. We made it but it sure put a scare in me. Needless to say, they stayed in the barn the rest of the day and all day yesterday. Today we were able to get them out. You would think I don't feed my horses as poor Fred (Classically) started eating the branches off a tree. I sure hope it doesn't get colder and freeze before we bring them back in the barn.

January 18, 2017 Finally a beautiful day in Wisconsin and Fred (Classically) got to go outside and practice with a "rope" for the Packer--Falcon game this weekend. I guess if he doesn't have a football, a rope will do.

January 1, 2017 As we enter 2017, I had some very difficult decisions to make in regard to my horses. After a year of several surgeries and not being “as young as I was” I wrestled with the decision whether to offer the stud services of Fred (Classically) to the public. After a lot of thought, I decided that I will stand him in 2017, but not breed as many mares. I have some awesome help in Leah Gloudemans, Bob Lueker, Katie Samuelson and of course, my veterinarian, Dr Katherine Fox. During 2016, I cut my horse numbers down and currently only own 8 horses and will only have 1 foal coming this year. I truly believe that Classically has a lot to offer the horse industry. Not only is he 5 panel NN and OLWS negative; but he also has the pedigree and conformation that I think compliment our modern Quarter, Paint, and Appaloosa horses. He is sired by Kids Classic Style and out of Miss Bunny Tardee by Tardee Impressive. He stands over 16.1 and is very correct and also good minded. I have enrolled him in the Open Breeders Halter Futurity, the World Conformation Halter Futurity and he will be in the Best in the West Futurity. I look forward to posting photos of the upcoming 2017 "Fred foals" and working with you in 2017.
